The project reflection

Project Reflection
The most successful:

I believe the most successful part of my project was making the logo. It took me a lot of time to finally find the perfect logo. I had to make 50+ prototypes to finally get the perfect logo. I am very satisfied with the logo, because it looks good on the hat, and the shirt.

The least successful:

The least successful part of my project was the commercial and the radio ad. Because I lost my USB which had the video and recording on it. So I had to hand in scripts. This will change the way people visualize the radio ad and the commercial.

Time management:

I spend majority of my time on the written part of the project. I put a lot of work into it, by typing a lot and answering every question with detail. I spend a descent amount of time on the commercial and the radio ad, which was a waste because I lost it. In the end the project took me around 5 hours of hard work. It was very fun.

What would I change:

I would SAVE more often, and I would have liked to use Photoshop more often. I think I should have done my written work on adobe illustrator, because it would have been easier to put on the blog, instead of doing it on word, then converting it to adobe, then to jpeg, and then finally putting it up on the blog. It wasted my time.

What mark I deserve:

I believe I deserve at least an 80%. I would have said higher, but I cannot because I really screwed up by not saving my commercial and radio ad. I hope the scripts are good enough to at least get me 60 out of 100 in that section. In the end the mark does not matter to me, it’s the experience. I learned a lot in commtech this year. I always used to be scared of using Photoshop, now I love it.

Radio script for ancestry.com

Radio Script

“Forever young” the song plays:

A man with a smooth and calming voice says:

Do you wish you knew what your grand parents, grand parents, grand parents, lives were like. Well you can find out, by the click of a mouse. Go on ancestry.com and sign up for free, and you can see your first ancestor to your last, by just typing your last name. Who knows you might meet a lost brother or sister, there is no limit to what ancestry.com has to offer. FOR FREE. Keep the memories young by utilizing this great ancestor finder. Go on Ancetry.com

Music get quieter and then fades away

The whole ad is 10 seconds long

As you can see there is repetition. The music and the line are the same as the commercial, because it will force the voice of the man and the song to stick in their heads. So when they get onto a computer, they will remember the radio ad. This will cause them to go onto ancestry.com.

The color selection for new logo

The Color

(for the new logo)

As you can see I used the color green. Dark brown and grey.

The green:
C- 37.9%
M- 10.5%
Y- 100%
K- 0%

R- 170
G- 190
B- 56

The dark brown:
C- 51.6%
M- 51.6%
Y- 71.9%
K- 30.1%

R- 127
G- 111
B- 90

The grey:
C- 30.9%
M- 27.7%
Y- 35.5%
K- 0%

R- 175
G- 184
B- 171

I choose these colors because they go well together. The green is bright and eye catching and the grey goes with the green. I choose brown, because the black was too dark, and I needed a color that was jus slightly lighter but now grey. So dark brow seemed perfect.
